Eggs: A Part of Healthy Weight Loss Diet

Why eggs? Can eggs really be a part of a healthy, fat loss diet? Yes!

A single egg contains around 210mg of dietary cholesterol. Truly, many high cholesterol foods are also high in saturated fats. But the egg is not one of them. One egg has 5g of fat (about 8% of daily value), of which only 1.5g is saturated.  http://lowfatcooking.about.com/od/faqs/f/eggs.htm

But egg alone is not a healthy way to lose weight and the extreme intake of eggs can be dangerous to health. You can enjoy egg with moderation. And you should eat eggs along with other healthy and nutritious foods like grapefruits and vegetables. 

The American Heart Association says that one egg a day is acceptable, but to keep in mind the cholesterol in that egg along with the other foods that you eat in the day. Those with heart disease, diabetes, or a high level of LDL 'bad' cholesterol should probably choose a small or medium egg vs. larger ones which have more cholesterol. Remember that egg whites have no cholesterol.

China produces the most eggs, at about 160 billion per year. In the United States, about 280 million hens produce more than 65 billion eggs per year. A hen can lay about 250 eggs per year.
